Our rehabilitation service in Lincolnshire is considering starting an in-depth research project after seeing some fascinating results in patients following the introduction of a surprising new resident. Teddy is a 14-week-old cockapoo and for the last couple of months he has been going to work with his owner Sue, the Registered Manager of The Laurels Neurological Rehabilitation service in Lincoln.

We had a fantastic day as a main sponsor of the UKABIF's 9th Annual Conference at London's Royal Society of Medicine earlier this week. The theme of this year's conference was 'Navigating the future for brain injury survivors: health, rehabilitation and beyond'. The conference explored innovations in assessment and rehabilitation, and looked at how cuts in health and social services are impacting on the lives of people with ABIs.

A highly experienced consultant and neurologist will be taking on a formidable challenge when he attempts the Frozen Continent Half Marathon later this month. Professor Mike Barnes, Clinical Director at Christchurch Group, will take on the mammoth challenge at 80 Degrees South, just a few hundred miles from the South Pole at the foot of the Ellsworth Mountains. His aim is to raise £20,000 for the United Kingdom Acquired Brain Injury Forum (UKABIF) charity, which campaigns for better services for people with an acquired brain injury.

Teddy, a 15-week-old cockapoo, is becoming a familiar face among residents and staff at The Laurels Neurological Rehabilitation centre, in Lincolnshire. Visiting four days a week with his owner Sue (who is the Registered Manager of the centre), he is the first dog to attend the rehabilitation centre and is undergoing training to become a PAT dog. Pets as Therapy (PAT) is a national charity which aims to enhance the health and wellbeing in the community through the visits of trusted volunteers with their behaviourally assessed pets.
